See you at the 22nd Kuressaare Maritime Festival on August 9-11th 2018 at Raiekivi säär and Kuressaare beach. The festival consists of the Fair, the Maritime area, Children’s Republic, great food&drink, amazing ships and thrilling attractions. Concerts and other performances take place on the Maritime and Beach stages, in the Chamber of Ideas and at the Folk square. In addition to that, there are many other fun activities, games, etc.
Last year, the festival was opened in the evening of August 10th 2017 at the grand Maritime stage. The opening ceremony was followed by a festive Swingers band concert with Tanja Mihhailova, Birgit Sarrap and Pearu Paulus. The opening evening was free! As were the programs of the Beach stage (Marek Sadam, Toomas Anni, Lõõtsavägilased, etc), the Chamber of Ideas (Vahur Kersna, Igor Mang, Mallukas, etc) and the Folk square.
Tickets included the Maritime stage evening concerts on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we had the opportunity to see the legendary Anne Veski, the energetic Daniel Levi and of course the timeless Terminaator. On Saturday, we heard the retro Regatt and one of the most promising male singers in Estonia Jüri Pootsmann. This was followed by the grand closing ceremony and the high point of the festival – the main act KERLI!!!
Kerli Kõiv: „The island of Saaremaa is one of my favorite places in Estonia. This is where every part of the forest and each wave of the sea is full of magic. And this is why I am thrilled to bring my fairy tale land to Kuressaare Maritime Festival. Each of my performances is unique and this time I will be looking for inspiration from the old Estonian sea mythology. See you in Kuressaare!“
Odd news about the fire of the Sun falling into a sacred lake spread quickly. It all happened on an island, an island far-far away. Where could it be? When Pytheas from Massalia arrived here 4th century BC, it was clear, this was the island he’d been looking for. He made it to Thule. (inspired by the works of Lennart Meri)
The magic of waves, the spirit of time, the inherited force. Saaremaa, Ultima Thule.
